There are other ways to finish your box to make it very unique. This whiskey barrel turned out to be very simple. The needed section was cut out. Of course the steel banding needed to be attached to the slats and the top and bottoms needed to be gusseted together and screwed to the slats to hold everything together. Once this was done a set of Slope faced brackets were attached to the inside of the lid and bottom. The top was trimmed and it was ready to install.
Anything can be attached to the basic box enclosure, driftwood, hammered metals, shells, sticks, bark, boat sterns, surfboards, etc. Please consult your spouse and neighbors before proceeding.
